Once upon a time, four years ago, two strangers were connected by internet fate. A girl, looking for a simple rebound after a long term relationship, and a man, looking for something similar. The message that started this story? Well, a proposal of a conversation over cheap wine about people that bother our main characters. Luke and Kendra were both extremely busy. Luke, a specialty welder, was in the middle of a turn around at an oil refinery. He was working long hours, sometimes exceeding 60 hours a week. Kendra, a riding instructor/barn manager/and insurance sales woman, was also working similar hours. Between both crazy schedules, and living about an hour away from one another, it was going to take some serious commitment to make time for a date. After about a month of simply talking, finally an opportunity opened for them to meet. Where did they meet you ask? Well, where other than the barn where Kendra kept her three horses. Luke asked "do you want to hang out tonight?" and she replied jokingly with, "I would love to meet you, but I have to ride. You could come to the barn if you want". Thinking that he would pass and ask for a real date some other time, she was shocked when he agreed. Luke then drove the hour after working a twelve hour day, to see Kendra at the barn. When he walked up, Kendra happened to be riding. He knocked on the gate and said, "What is the password?". She replied with a laugh and said "whatever you want it to be!" Kendra recalls seeing his face in person for the first time and feeling that not only was he handsome, but that his eyes were something enchanting. After their initial meet up, they were both unsure how they were going to date with their crazy schedules. Something greater happened to be in store for them, as both didn't want to lose their shot at this relationship. Luke proceeded to come help Kendra frequently at the barn, and did indeed take her on some fabulous dates as well. Another month later, Luke asked Kendra to be his Girlfriend, and after two weeks of waiting, she replied with a yes! After a year of adventures together; including a trip to Silverwood for Kendra's birthday; things had settled in both of their lives, and they realized this was not going to be like any other relationship. At dinner one night in December of 2019, they decided to move in together. After another year and a half of loving the life they had created together, Luke and Kendra decided to sell their house in Oak Harbor to move to Mount Vernon where they now reside. Through this relationship, Kendra has been committed to working hard to achieve her equestrian dreams, and Luke has supported her every step of the way. As in any relationship, there were great moments, and sad moments; difficult moments, and moments that felt so simple and easy. Through it all, Luke and Kendra have loved each other, supported one another, and have taken every opportunity they can to be better partners. Now in their new house, along with their two cats (Piper and Oliver) and two dogs (Dug and Birdie), they have truly settled into being partners for life. They are delighted that you have chosen to join them on this special day in their lives. Cheers to the Franklins!
