We first crossed paths in Boston during the summer of 2022—Kendra was in college there, and Jack, who’s from Boston, was doing an internship. We were in the same Mount Auburn church ward but never actually spoke. Jack definitely noticed Kendra and thought she was super cute, and Kendra still remembers being impressed by one of Jack’s Sunday school lessons—she thought he seemed really smart. Fast forward to February 2024: we were reintroduced at church in NYC while Kendra was in town for Fashion Week. Later that week, a mutual friend invited us both to dinner. Jack walked Kendra home and asked her to breakfast the next morning. We had the best first date—easy, fun, and full of great conversation. The next day, we spent two hours at Christie’s art gallery before Kendra went back to Boston. We spent the next month talking every day over FaceTime, and when Jack came to visit for spring break, we made it official. Even with his crazy schedule, Jack came up to Boston every other weekend. That summer, Kendra backpacked through Europe while Jack was at Duke doing a research internship—we FaceTimed every day. After the summer, Kendra moved to NYC, and we’ve loved exploring the city together—trying new restaurants, wandering through art museums, and just doing life side by side. Jack recently graduated from Columbia and is working at Memorial Sloan Kettering doing cancer research, and Kendra is working at Ralph Lauren as a buyer. Jack proposed at the Met on March 29th, 2025, and we’re so excited to get married on August 16th!
