Early October, two unassuming strangers swiped “right” on each other while scrolling through Bumble. I (Rochelle) swiped first, hesitating because there was something different about Robert’s profile than all the others. A quote about Bruce Willis intrigued me and I thought “why not, it’s not like I am committing to anything.” The next morning I got a notification that we matched. I messaged him “tell me about this quote from Bruce Willis.” The rest, they say, is history. We learned quickly that we enjoy most of the same things, have a lot of the same likes and dislikes, and above all else, love our Lord and Savior. We texted a lot between breaks at work, and in between my DoorDash adventures in the evening. We set a date to meet, coffee and dinner. And then one evening, Rob asked if wanted to meet sooner. Throwing caution to the wind, and also calling my best friend for support so she could try and talk some sense into me, we met at midnight in the middle of Riverfront park, in the cold, and spent hours talking. We’ve been inseparable since. Robert asked me to marry him on January 23 the following year in my favorite PJs. We moved in together that same spring. We got married in our backyard, a very small ceremony, on 8/11/23. That one was for us. This June, is for you, and me. We want to celebrate with you all. With themes from our first date until now, we want to take you down our memory lane as we celebrate our love and union in marriage. We hope to see you there.
