Matt and Brooke met by chance in September of 2022, in Dayton, OH. Brooke was visiting Kara and Bingham for a weekend, and happened upon a very introverted (and unsuspecting) Matthew. Matt and Brooke exchanged numbers after a night on the town, and continued to chat even though Brooke lived 3 hours away near Cleveland, OH. Matt and Brooke went on their first date at The Corner Kitchen in Dayton, Ohio a month later- the date went so well that neither of them realized the restaurant had closed, they both joke that they may have stayed sitting in the booth all night talking had it not been for the waitress who cut their date short with an "are you finished???" Matt and Brooke grew close quickly, finishing each others sentences- and thinking the same things at all the right times. They fell in love over rock oldies, baseball game hotdogs and beer, glass blowing, Brooke converting Matt to Buckeye Football, Matt converting Brooke to Blackhawks Hockey and lazy movie days. Matt's favorite thing about Brooke is how much she naturally makes him laugh, and that they are always on the same wavelength. Brooke's favorite thing about Matt is that he keeps her grounded with his calm nature, and that even in the places where they are polar opposites- that their personalities always compliment the other one perfectly.
