The year was 2020, and while the world hit pause during a global pandemic, fate had other plans for this Brit and Texan. Ricky was living in Houston while Kendall was wrapping up her final semester of nursing school in Galveston, living with her best friend, Shelby Howard. With the world turning upside down, their classes were canceled, and suddenly, Kendall and Shelby had a lot more free time—and a lot more excuses to visit Houston! That’s where Ricky and Kendall first met at a friend’s house. Despite having an instant connection, nothing immediately transpired as Kendall wasn’t living in Houston yet and neither one of them were really looking for love. Everything changed a couple months later when the two of them agreed to go on a trip with their friends to Austin for the Fourth of July. Shelby made sure Kendall knew Ricky would be there—and ensured they were paired together any chance she got! Though these two didn’t need any help being paired up as they were inseparable all weekend and went on their first official date a few days after returning home to Houston. Once Ricky had Kendall’s parents’ (mother’s) approval, Kendall knew the deal was sealed! Ricky proposed on May 25th, 2024, and this has been the most exciting chapter for the couple to date.
