Landon and I first met when I was in eighth grade and he was a sophomore in high school, paired together as dance partners for a show. At the time, we didn’t think much of it. The following year, we found ourselves in the same friend group, which led to us attending my first homecoming together. I quickly realized I was happiest around Landon and wanted to know him better. After a pumpkin patch and movie date, he asked me to be his girlfriend on October 13, 2018. We dated through the rest of my high school years, even after Landon graduated, and growing up together was so sweet. Near the end of high school, we decided to part ways as college plans and immaturity led us to grow apart. We spent two years without contact, which, surprisingly, became the best thing for our relationship. During that time, we both grew individually, recentered our lives on Christ, and learned what true, selfless love really means. We now knew that God alone could be our source of identity and happiness. In the summer of 2024, Landon reached out to catch up, and after meeting for dinner and talking for six hours, we haven’t stopped talking since. We started dating again on July 3, 2024 (cue the fireworks!), amazed at how God had worked in both of our lives and brought us back together in a way far more beautiful than we could have imagined. Landon proposed on August 2, 2025, surrounded by rose petals, candles, photos from our journey, and our song since high school, “Unforgettable” by Nat King Cole, played on the piano. God has been faithful through every season of our lives, and we are so grateful to build our marriage with Him as our foundation. We can’t wait to see how He uses our union to glorify His kingdom.
