In June of 2020, during the height of COVID, Kendall was bored and living at home in Wyckoff, NJ, and decided to download an app called “Hinge,” so she could have some human–online– interaction outside of her parents. There was Kip, in his Patriots jersey, holding Tucker. We immediately bonded over our love for dogs, football, and dad jokes. After messaging they agreed to do the incredibly awkward “Facetime First Date,” because what else do two immuno-compromised people do during a global pandemic. After about a month of facetiming and getting to know each other, we decided to meet in person, and it was an instant connection. Eventually, Kendall moved back to the Bronx, making it easier to spend time together. As we grew closer, so did Tucker and Ella.
