Question

Why a ‘mini matrimony’

Answer

Family is so important to us. We want to celebrate big but we also know celebrating intimately with the people we’ve loved the longest is even more important right now. We plan to have our large celebration in 2026, but for now, we want to bring our families together to see us tie the knot. It’s been an honor for us to have you apart of our journey and we are excited to ring in this new chapter with you by our side. Cheers to becoming a Canales!

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Attire: Backyard Formal We want to celebrate with you in style! Think midi-length dresses in deep, autumnal hues (like burgundy, forest green, navy, or rust) and dressy shoes suitable for turf. Gentlemen, sport coats and slacks encouraged—ties optional, but appreciated. It’s a celebration under the sky, so feel free to express your personality while keeping it polished and seasonally inspired. Please see our ‘Attire’ page for outfit inspiration.

Question

Are the ceremony and reception in the same place?

Answer

Yes, to make it easy for our guests we will be holding our ceremony and reception dinner in the same space. The evening will be hosted at the Nakakihara household— 25401 Hugo Rd Laguna Niguel, CA 92677

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We ask that our guests arrive at 4:30pm so we can start our ceremony promptly at 5pm.

Question

Registry

Answer

Your presence at our celebration means the world to us, and that alone is truly the greatest gift. With the anticipation of two special celebrations—our intimate ceremony in 2025 and an unplanned (but exciting!) larger celebration in 2026—we want to emphasize that there is absolutely no pressure to give. That said, if you feel inclined, we’ve created a honeymoon fund to help us travel and explore new places together—something we’ve always loved to do. Your love and support are more than enough, and we’re just so grateful to share this moment with you.
