Kendall and James' story began on October of 2019 when Kendall swiped right on the Bumble profile of a handsome, bald man. James invited Kendall to meet at Suffolk Punch, a local brewery in Charlotte. On their second date, Kendall taught him who’s boss when it comes to Uno, Connect Four, and the other games at that bar. Seeking revenge, James took her bowling to show her why he was single for so long in the first place. Christmas and the season’s bad hallmark movie binges came and went while they both continued to see each other on the weekends. Things were on the up-and-up when in March of 2020 Covid-19 entered our world. They had to get more creative with their date ideas and ways to spend time together. Traveling was halted but the two found entertainment in cooking together, spending time with friends, and socially distanced date ideas. When you’re stuck inside for months just as your relationship starts, you’ll quickly learn if things are working well or not. The two of them grew closer and closer together during this difficult time. James loved making this reserved southern girl laugh and Kendall loved discovering Charlotte with her new-found Midwest man. Slowly the two became best friends and fell in love.
On November 13th, 2021 James and Kendall went to Brazwell's Pub for the Iowa football game watch. This was a regular event since James became president of the Iowa Alumni Club. At halftime, a raffle was done to give away prizes to club members. Kendall usually was the Vana White of the group as she handed out prizes and pulled raffle tickets. This time was different though as James’ friend Dean was in town and replaced her duties for the day. Little did she know that the raffle’s grand prize was rigged to have her ticket pulled. That grand prize was a beautiful diamond ring and a question! James and Kendall are incredibly excited to celebrate their love and the start of their lives together with friends and family!
