We met at a local restaurant that we were both working at (Connor a bouncer and Kendall a server) in Boone, North Carolina. We both ended up at a mutual friends bonfire, before leaving for the night we had made plans for the upcoming week to hang out again. Within the first few hours of talking and getting to know one another we just "clicked". Fried chicken, mashed potatoes and mac and cheese locked us in for the long haul.
Connor had accepted a job out in Cheyenne, Wyoming for a few months while I was still in nursing school. On my breaks during school, he would fly me out to Wyoming to see him. We decided to go for a hike out in the beautiful mountains of Colorado. But first was the task of finding Connor new hiking shoes. THREE shoe stores later we finally found what were after and we began our drive to the breath taking Horsetooth Mountain Open Space in Fort Collins, CO. Little did I know how intense this hike would end up being, I quickly realized I did not wear the appropriate shoes. Upon reaching the top of our destination, I sat down to soak my sore feet in a puddle of water. Connor pacing behind me and asked, "are you going to stand up???" Of course me being oblivious to what was about to happen I brushed him off with a "yea babe, in just a minute." Poor guy was sweating bullets. Connor thinking quick to get me up, he says "let's go up here to see the view." Me being myself I'm taking pictures and just enjoying the beautiful views. I turn around and have Connor down on one knee in front of me asking me to be his wife. By far the easiest question I've ever been asked, the quickest "yes" and the happiest I've ever been knowing I get to spend the rest of my days with the love of my life!
