It was freshman year of college at Sam Houston in 2014. I met this beautiful girl in college, what seems like a long time ago. I took her on a few dates, we got to know each other a little bit, and for some reason, I decided to not settle down and see what college had in store for me. Well years, friends, and relationships came and went. Then, one day 4 years later after we had both graduated, I was scrolling on Instagram while on my 2:00 a.m. break at work, Kendall popped up as a suggested friend and I thought I’d shoot her a message and see how she was doing after college. Much to my surprise, she replied the next day. We talked for a little while, messaged back and forth for a few days, and I decided to ask her out. She accepted and we had frozen yogurt at Chiller Bee the next night. After about 4 months of long distance dating, on January 19, 2019, I asked her to officially be my girlfriend and she agreed! Love grew, jobs changed, we moved in, and things have been perfect! April 25, 2020 I got down on my trembling knee and asked her the most important question of my life. Due to COVID closing everything down, it was hard to find the right time and place to ask. But the backyard of our house, surrounded by lights, seemed so perfect. She screamed with a giggly yes and threw her arms around me! We are so extremely excited to get married on October 3, 2021. After this year, it definitely cannot come soon enough!
The year was 2014, and I had just gotten settled into Sam Houston State University. I went into college not knowing a soul, so I was excited when a cute, country boy asked me out on a date. We casually dated for a couple months, then, it all just fizzled out. Years, jobs, and a couple relationships went by, I never really gave him a second thought. Once I graduated in 2018, I was looking for a job that would launch me into my communications career, and love was the last thing on my mind. As they always say, "The best things in life come to you when you aren't looking". Sure enough, one random Saturday night, I received a message on Instagram from that cute, country boy I haven't spoken to in 4 years. Fast forward a year and a half later, we are happily engaged and planning our wedding next year! If you would have told me three years ago, this was the guy I would be lucky enough to spend forever with, I would have told you that you were crazy. But, I wouldn't have had it any other way, and I can't wait to start this crazy, whirlwind we call life together.
