We thought we'd clear things up - Blake and I met on a dating app; we'll let you use your imagination as to which one. We instantly connected through messaging because we both wanted all the same things - love, a relationship, and lots of country concerts in our future! After a few weeks of messaging, we met for drinks on the downtown mall in Charlottesville, VA and the rest is history.
Blake had picked out the ring and asked John D for permission around the holidays in 2017. In the 10 weeks after that, Virginia had the rainiest season in years. On March 3, 2018, Blake finally got nice enough weather to plan the perfect day. We went to a new winery in town, Septenary Winery at Seven Oaks Farm, did a tasting and went outside to enjoy the beautiful Charlottesville views. After pretending to take pictures in front of the view, Blake asked and I said "Yes! Of course!" Then realizing I had tickets to the UVA championship basketball game, asked if I could ditch him to go. Safe to say, my ring was about the only thing I paid attention to at the game.
We will be getting married at All Saints Episcopal Church in Richmond, VA. This is the church I grew up in, went to Sunday School, participated in many Christmas pageants, and now will walk down the aisle. Blake's only request for our reception venue was something with a view and a place to dance. Deep Run Hunt Club is an equestrian club in Goochland County, just a few minutes from our church. After seeing the gorgeous views from the clubhouse and back patio dance floor, Blake said "let's do it!." As many of you know, Blake and I are both pursuing degrees from University of Virginia so May 18, 2019 is the only time we have in between semesters.
