Kendall and Cade met on the Big Island of Hawaii on the Fourth of July in 2022- Cade was there for work, and Kendall was on a solo trip. Thank God for dating apps because after some persistence from Cade (sending an extended connection and PAYING for it), Kendall finally sent the message that started it all "Where are we watching the fireworks tonight?" They met on the beach for the island's very short but memorable three-minute firework show and ended up spending the rest of Kendall's trip exploring the island, playing pool, and becoming regulars at the Hilo Tavern. Kendall headed home and Cade convinced her to come back to Hawaii for two more weeks before school started - because clearly one trip to Hawaii just isn't enough. Once Cade's job wrapped up, he came to Chicago to visit.... and just never left. Three years later, they returned to Hawaii & Cade proposed!
