We first met working together at Safeco Field during the summer of 2016. For a while it was nothing more than reserved work-place flirting and fun conversations that made the hours fly by. This was not your classic love at first sight story, but in just a few days of getting to know her, I knew I had found someone special and there was a reason we had been brought together. After the subtle urging of Miranda’s boss (Hah!) and several contemplative nights of how and when, I finally asked her out during a post-game firework show.
Exactly nine months after we officially started dating we went on a date where the first stop was Gasworks park. The clouds miraculously parted for 30 minutes while we walked to the spot where she had first told me she was falling in love with me. With a little help from some friends and family, we found ourselves standing by the water overlooking the Seattle skyline at twilight with candles and rose petals all around us. I dropped to a knee, asked her to marry me and received an emphatic tear-filled YES!
