Our Story
From Bay Head to Bali
Kendal and Joe were ocean rescue lifeguards and stand partners at Bay Head Beach. Kendal had been lifeguarding since 2015 and recently graduated from college, but decided to return to the Jersey Shore for one more summer before starting a "real job" in NYC. As fate would have it, Joe joined the lifeguard squad that same summer.
During those first few weeks, they sat together on Karge Street Beach — and the rest is history. Whether it was morning drills, lunch breaks, rain days, listening to music on the stand, or 3 o'clock paddleboard dates, it was nearly impossible to keep them apart.
They have always felt a strong connection and a deep, shared love for the ocean. No matter where in the world their travels take them, whether it be Bay Head or Notting Hill, they always find their way back to the beach which is what led to their engagement in Algarve, Portgual and now their upcoming elopement in Bali, Indonesia.
