Given the recent rise of COVID-19 cases and growing concerns about the Delta variant, we wanted to let you know that we are planning to proceed with our wedding, but we are requiring all eligible guests to be vaccinated. We've spent the last few days reaching out to guests to confirm their vaccination status and we were thrilled to hear from the vast majority of you that you are already vaccinated. At this point, we've spoken individually with unvaccinated guests and with heavy hearts have asked them not to join us. Because current data shows that vaccination provides strong protection against infection, severe illness, and hospitalization, we feel comfortable holding our wedding with fully vaccinated guests. This recent article from Vox does a good job outlining the evidence that we feel supports this decision: https://www.vox.com/22602039/breakthrough-cases-covid-19-delta-variant-masks-vaccines That being said, we understand that some of our guests may wish to be more cautious and to avoid travel and gatherings at this time. If that is the case for you, we will miss you dearly at the wedding but respect your decision. Please update your RSVP here on Zola. For those still planning to attend, here are a few more COVID considerations for the wedding: - Children under age 12 are still welcome to join us, because we know that they are not yet eligible for the vaccines. - All events on September 4th will be held outdoors, weather permitting. Our family welcome drinks on September 3rd will be held indoors, although the venue does have a patio if you prefer to stay outside. - We will have masks available in the event that poor weather forces us indoors on Saturday. At this stage, we are not planning to require masking given that all adult guests will be vaccinated. That may change depending on local mask mandates. Please reach out to us if you have any questions about this, we're happy to chat about our decisions and the data behind them.
