The year was 1998, Oak Hills Elementary School. Mrs. Calce and Mrs. Conrad had no idea that their third grade classroom was planting the seed for a future romance. Maddy, a rule follower and the daughter of a teacher, was not fond of Ken and his disruptive tendencies. Ken, however, was enamored with Maddy's blue eyes, even back then. Fast forward 21 years later to 2019, when both Ken and Maddy were ready to find “The One". Swiping through dating profiles on the Bumble app, Maddy came across a familiar face: Kenneth Bales. Hmmmm…. Not remembering much of their schooling together, she was impressed by his profile and photos: Ken was extremely smart, adventurous, AND he had great legs. She thought, “What’s not to like?!” Cautiously, in fear of another disappointing date, Maddy took a chance and agreed to meet Ken for drinks. That “quick” meet up turned into a five hour dinner. When they left each other that night, both Ken and Maddy knew that their lives had been changed forever, because each of them had, indeed, found “The One"! Fun Fact: After that dinner, Maddy drove directly to Lynn and Brian’s house, frantically asking for her third grade yearbook. Upon dragging it out, she opened it to discover that she and her bestie had crossed out several of their male classmates' faces in red pen. Ken was one of those 3rd grade boys! As fate would have it, Maddy ended up going “From Crossing Out to Swiping Right”!
