Kenan and Ayanna met during the wedding of Marcel and Malika Parker, Kenan's best friend and Ayanna's sister. Kenan and Ayanna were partners during the wedding rehearsal and came in together during the wedding reception. They did not engage much during the wedding until the very end, when a photo was taken and numbers were exchanged. They started out as a long distance couple taking trips to meet up in person including New Orleans, LA, Austin, TX, Las Vegas, NV, Indianapolis, IN and Stillwater, OK. The rest is history.

Kenan and Ayanna often walk the dogs in the evening. Ayanna was completely clueless of what was in store and almost messed up the proposal. Early in the walk, Ayanna attempted to FaceTime a friend so she could see them walking the dogs but luckily they did not pick-up. Soon after, Kenan claimed that he all of a sudden got dizzy. Ayanna initially thought he was playing but when Kenan mentioned being dizzy again, Ayanna thought he might be serious. Kenan said he needed to take a seat on the bench and rest a little. Ayanna still concerned was trying to figure out if they needed to go back home or call 911! After sitting on the bench, Kenan got up while digging in his pocket and took a knee and proposed. Ayanna was completely surprised and of course said 'Yes!'. They started back walking the dogs and Ayanna began to shed tears. The rest of the walk Ayanna was distracted with excitement and Kenan had to walk both of the dogs.
