A shout out to our friends

In 1995, Curtis Neal met Jacob Stremers. The two boys became best friends- growing up in the same neighborhood, and while growing into men continuing to stay in touch with one another. In 2008, Makena Schultz met Lauren Solinski. The two were undergrads at Michigan State University, both working at the Wharton Center for Performing Arts. They became great friends who cheered, cried, and crafted together. On January 4, 2014, Jacob Stremers and Lauren Solinski got married. Makena and Curt were both in the bridal party and traveled to Marquette in the peak of winter to stand and celebrate with their friends. On October 11, 2014, Makena took Curt to the wedding of her friends Laura and Jonathan. This was their first of many dates. You could say we have two sets of friends getting married to thank for bringing us together! In 2015, Curt moved to East Lansing. In 2016, we bought a house. After over three years of being partners, and carrying the ring around for five months (everywhere they went), Curt asked Makena to marry him. Curt honored their common hobby and love for photography by giving Makena a new camera for Christmas. Secretly he had taken a photo of the ring and told Makena to view the previous pictures. Upon seeing the photo, and exclaiming "What is this?!" Makena looked up to see Curt holding the ring out. Of course she said "YES!" On the same day, Jake and Lauren, their best friends (and subsequent Best Man and Matron of Honor) welcomed their daughter to the world. Needless to say December 22, 2017, was a wonderful day and the kick off to some amazing adventures. We know we have had special moments with each of you; moments that have shaped our lives and helped us grow into the human beings we are today. We're looking forward to this opportunity to celebrate our commitment to walk through the rest of our lives together and to honor the wonderful impact you have had on our story!

Save the Dates

the best laid plans...

If you've made it to this page it means you received our "save the dates". We're so sorry if your wooden magnet was broken. After weeks of hand making these pieces of the celebration it's disappointing to know they didn't turn out. The best laid plans... In case yours was broken upon arrival there's a photo of what they were intended to look like in the footer below.
