We Are Tying The Knot

We were both born and raised on the beautiful island of St. Croix, USVI, in the close-knit neighborhood of Glynn. Though our homes were right next door to each other, and our families knew one another well, the thought of us becoming more than just neighbors or acquaintances was far from either of our minds. As time passed, life took us in different directions, and we each left the island to pursue our dreams. After completing her undergraduate studies, Cleo moved to Maryland, where Kemuel had already been living for some time. It was there that our paths crossed once again. Kemuel played regularly at the church Cleo attended, and slowly, a friendship began to blossom. Despite the distance and different life paths, the bond between us grew stronger. However, at that time, the idea of a romantic relationship still felt distant. As time went on, Kemuel made the decision to move to Atlanta to further his career. But before he left, he wanted to take Cleo on a date to express his feelings for her. She gave him a bit of a hard time, but they both knew that their friendship was something special. Despite the distance between them, their connection remained strong, and Kemuel refused to give up. A year later, Cleo received an offer to transfer to Atlanta with her job. What started as a friendship began to take on a new dimension, and soon, romantic feelings blossomed. We laughed at the idea of how life had brought us together, never imagining this would be the path we’d end up on. As time passed, Kemuel shared with Cleo that he was ready for an exclusive, committed relationship—and he knew she was the one he wanted to build a future with. The two of us embraced this new chapter with open hearts, knowing that the beautiful friendship we had was the foundation of something truly special. On October 23, 2024, Kemuel, eager to celebrate Cleo’s accomplishments, took her out for what she thought would be a simple celebration. But in front of two close loved ones, and a room full of strangers, Kemuel got down on one knee and asked Cleo to continue this incredible journey of love and partnership as his wife. We are beyond excited to celebrate this union of forever with all of you. While the story of our love is long and full of twists, turns, and surprises, we are sure there will be plenty of new chapters to share with you on our big day. We can't wait to celebrate this beautiful love with all of our dear friends and family.
