Jordan and I actually had been attending the same youth group for a while without even noticing each other. In January of 2014, our youth group took a bus to church camp that was in Wisconsin. I noticed Jordan on the bus and we exchanged phone numbers.
It didn’t take long before I started falling for Jordan. We would come to school early just so that we could see each other more. He would walk me to class every morning and wait for me to get out of class at the end of the day to walk me to the bus. One morning, we were walking to class and he stopped me and asked me to be his girlfriend. So romantic I KNOW! Ah young love.
Jordan’s parents were in town visiting from Washington and it was their last day before heading back. He told me his parents wanted to take family pictures at the park that night and to dress nice. I thought it was a little strange that they wanted family pictures done because we had JUST gotten family pictures done a few weeks prior. As we were walking on the bridge at the park Jordan stopped me, got down on one knee, and proposed. After I said yes, our families jumped out from behind the brick wall and surprised us with bubbly and cheers. The ring was beautiful! 💍
