Then Comes Marriage!

Bill and Amber met on Sunday, January 22, 2017 after a few e-mail exchanges over Match.com online dating website. They had dinner at La Buvette french restaurant in the Old Market in Omaha. After dinner, they were entertained by a live jazz band at Mr. Toad's Pub. Amber was incredibly attracted to Bill's dreamy blue eyes, ENORMOUS brain, and his classy style. For the next several months they had a blast together! Traveling to Clearwater Beach, FL and exploring small towns in Nebraska, dancing the night away, cooking dinner together, riding roller coasters and water slides, and taking lots of pictures! Bill would often surprise Amber with small gifts when she would come over, like cat butt magnets, funny cat coasters, and eventually the key to his condo ;-) With Bill's busy schedule traveling for work and back to Texas to see his kids, it was challenging for the two of them to plan dates. Nevertheless, they made it work, but about seven months later Bill was offered a position at UT in Austin, TX and Amber wasn't sure if she was ready to leave her family, friends, and home state. After a heart-breaking separation in September, Bill moved to Austin in December 2017. But the two of them remained in contact over the following months, with the occasional "I miss you" and keeping in touch by exchanging photos of one another and the kids, it was inevitable that they would eventually be together again. After several months of missing each other, they reunited in Omaha in March 2018 and re-lived their first-date night at the same restaurant and pub (they even sat at the same table!). Within a few weeks Amber visited Bill in TX, put her notice in at her job and apartment, and moved to Austin in May 2018. Although it was one of the hardest decisions Amber has ever made, it was by far the most rewarding one! Bill royally surprised Amber by proposing to her on January 22, 2019 at their 2 year anniversary dinner. And the rest is history!
