It was December 9, 2013 when I started a new job at Lending Club. Being the new kid was intimidating and being shy made it really hard to get to know people. I would often eat lunch alone hoping that some outgoing person would sit next to me. I jokingly posted something online about being a loner and Brandon, Kelvin's BFF and my friend from college, happened to read it. The rest was history. Photo Proof (Link): https://goo.gl/mz97iY Brandon reached out to Kelvin, asking him to accompany me at lunch sometime and Kelvin reluctantly agreed. I don't know if you all know this, but Kelvin has always been the popular kid, so I'm sure he had cooler things to do. Months went by and one lunch became two, two lunches became three and before you knew it we were eating lunch and taking our breaks together every day! We really bonded over bubble hockey, ping pong, and shuffleboard ass whoopings. People around the office started asking if we were dating, but we swore we were just really good friends, which was true at the time. As time passed and we got to know each other, I realized how special Kelvin was. He was always so thoughtful, smart and kind. Most importantly, he made me laugh every single day. I remember sitting together at lunch one day, looking at him and thinking "I want to be with you all the time." At that moment, I knew we'd be together one day. In the following months, Kelvin's feelings started showing and he began asking me out on dates. We started spending most of our time outside of work together, but I was stubborn and often reject his requests to be my boyfriend. Luckily his patience never wavered. With every joke and every thoughtful gesture, he chipped away at my reluctance. I'm so happy he stuck it out and that he chose to spend the rest of his life with me. Grac is the most gullible person I know and still is to this day, but I still had to plan it to perfection. The setting was easy. I pretended that my company's holiday party was on Saturday, November 18, 2017 (a few days after our 3rd anniversary together.) The location was where we shared our first kiss, which was after a Giants game on the walk back home (cheesy, I know.) It was difficult to plan, especially when you're living together, so everything had to be discrete. I knew I wanted to record the special moment, so I got a custom ring box to fit the size of the Go Pro. As I opened the box, I was able to catch her priceless reaction. -Kelvin
