FAQs

Question

What if I know I will not be attending before the RSVP opens up?

Answer

We completely understand that a destination wedding is a big ask, and attending may not be feasible for everyone. If you’ve received a Save the Date and already know you won’t be able to attend, we would really appreciate it if you could let us know ahead of the RSVP opening. This will help us with the extra logistics and planning that go along with a destination wedding. While we’ll miss having you there, we’re so grateful for your love and support from afar. Thank you in advance!

Question

Where will we fly into?

Answer

While you are welcome to fly into any airport you choose, the closest major international airport to our resort is Cancun International Airport—about 50 miles north of the resort!

Question

Do we need to stay where the wedding will be held?

Answer

We STRONGLY recommend you stay on the resort property we have chosen as this will allow you access to all celebratory events! While it is not required for you to stay at our resort, all events will take place there, and if you choose to stay elsewhere, you will need to request and purchase a day pass for each day you plan on joining us, including the wedding day. If the resort is at full capacity on the day of the wedding, or any other day you would like to join us, you will not be able to enter the property. We will also not be available the day of, or the days leading up to, the wedding to help you navigate acquiring a day pass.

Question

Will there be any other events besides the wedding?

Answer

We are planning a welcome event scheduled a day or two before the wedding that everyone is welcome to attend. We are looking forward to seeing all of you and thanking you for coming so far to celebrate with us, and we want to be able to spend time with each one of you! A finalized timeline of events will be available for you upon check-in to the resort and will be posted here closer to the wedding date.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Semi-Formal Think of what you would wear to a nice dinner at a 5-star resort. Keep in mind it is August in Mexico, so full suits and long gowns may not be the most comfortable. Our groomsmen are being given the option of dress shorts for the reception, and we wouldn't blame you if you did the same!

Question

How do the different resort bookings work?

Answer

There are four resorts on the property. For the sake of keeping this easy, we have blocks at TRS Yucatan (adults only) and Family Selection at Kantenah (family friendly). The ceremony and reception will both take place on the family friendly side, as we will have guests under 18 joining us, but you are welcome to stay at either resort. Both of these sections of the resort give you access to all four properties if you are 18+. For those under 18, they will have access to the entire resort except for TRS. *PLEASE NOTE: do not book any rooms until you receive a link or group code directly from us. This will come with your invitation, and we will send this info out with ample time to ensure you have a stress free booking and planning process. If you choose to book outside of our booking link/code, you will not be considered a guest of the wedding, and you will have to purchase an additional event pass to join us at any wedding related events. So please just hold tight until we send additional information!

Question

Will any events be adult only?

Answer

Yes. After our reception concludes we will be heading to one of the late night pools on the property. Unfortunately, all late night pools are 18+. So, while we are happy to have everyone attend our ceremony & reception, the younger guests will not be able to join us for after party festivities on the night of the wedding.

Question

What happens if it rains?

Answer

As weather is unpredictable, especially in the tropical climate we will be in, we have discussed with the resort a contingency plan on property that can be decided the day before the wedding. We will inform everyone of any updates. If we do wind up having some light rain during our ceremony or reception, we will just dance on. Anyways, we've heard it's good luck!

Question

Do I need any travel documentation?

Answer

Yes! A valid United States passport is required for each individual guest, even babies & children! You will also have to fill out immigration paperwork on the plane, and they do not provide pens, so we recommend at least one member of your travel group has one.

Question

What days should we be there?

Answer

Our wedding is taking place on Sunday, August 16, 2026. Our recommendation is to fly in Friday and Fly out Tuesday, but you are more than welcome to stay longer or leave sooner. We will be on the property from Thursday - Wednesday, so if you want to come join us sooner, we'll keep a lounge chair waiting!

Question

Any advice or reminders?

Answer

Yes—a lot actually! First things first: you’re in the jungle! That means there will be bugs, birds, and the occasional iguana. If you find a bug in your room, you are okay—the resort isn’t dirty; it’s just part of the nature you’re surrounded by. Next up: the heat. August in Mexico is hot, and the UV index is high. Bring more sunscreen than you think you’ll need, reapply often, and packing a hat definitely wouldn’t hurt either. Poolside PSA: the tiles around the pool are extremely slippery. It’s not a matter of if you’ll slip, but when! We highly recommend flip-flops or sandals with some grip and being overly cautious when walking around the pool. Back to the bugs: bring bug spray, especially for the evenings, and if you’re prone to bites, apply it generously. Again, we’re in the jungle, and the mosquitos are ready to bite. (Also, pack any medications you might need—Tylenol, anti-nausea meds, etc. since resort shops can be pricey!) And finally: travel prep. Double-check that your passport is up to date and that you’ve arranged transportation to and from the hotel. While taxis are available outside the airport, pre-booking your transfer is always the smoother (and less stressful) option.
