In 2014 Kelsy was living in North Lake Tahoe and Michael was finishing up a 3 month winter adventure in Driggs, Idaho. Before heading home to Natchitoches, LA, he ventured with some friends on a road trip across the western states. One of their stops was Tahoe, and on a Saturday night they landed at the Crystal Bay Club (CBC) for some live music. Kelsy and some girlfriends were having a night out at the CBC as well, and while waiting at the large circular bar for drinks, one of the girls asked Kelsy what she thought about the guy standing directly across the bar, a boy she nicknamed “blue” (he was wearing a lot of blue). Kelsy had never seen him before, and her hesitation to respond was an invitation for her friend to act. She took off towards “blue”, leaving Kelsy wide-eyed and frozen. It was Michael, and he proceeded to buy Kelsy a drink. They shared a dance, exchanged numbers, and went on a date the very next day; before Michael left Tahoe and continued his road trip. Eight and a half years later they’re more than ready to take the leap and commit to one another forever!
