Cole had leave saved up to come back home to Louisiana for two weeks and go to Red Dress Run and see all of his friends and family. Kelsie added him on snapchat because she always had a huge crush on him, well apparently he did too. They made plans to go on a date. Instead, Kelsie told him she would bring the movies and make cookies, if he would bring the pizza. Within weeks they were dating, and Kelsie was flying to San Diego every 2 months to see him. One pizza date turned into spending the rest of their lives together!
They hadn't seen each other in 7 months, due to this crazy pandemic. Every plan they made to see each other kept falling apart. Cole was finally able to come home! His family, friend, and Kelsie were all so ready to see him. They were both relaxing watching a movie, nothing fancy. Cole looked at Kelsie and said "Hey let's just get hitched!". Kelsie thought he was joking like he usually does. But by the time Cole left for California, they had made plans to go to the courthouse and elope! They planned to keep it a secret, but naturally, that's a hard secret to keep for this couple!
They started dating while Cole was living in San Diego, California. They dated living over 1400 miles away from each other for almost 3 years. They would see each other every few months, sometimes longer. Kelsie would hear girls say how hard it was not seeing their boyfriend for a week or two and just laugh to herself. Everyone says long distance never works, but I guess that wasn't true for these two!
