We met through the dating app, Hinge talked for a few weeks and then went on our first date. I still have the six pictures of the outfits I sent to Anna for advice on what to wear. We met at Papas on the Lake on a Wednesday after work. We talked, laughed, ate, and watched the sun slowly fall behind Lake Conroe. After more than four hours it was around 10:30PM and we both were yawning. Not because we were boring each other but because (like many of you know) we both like to be in bed by 9PM. On the drive home I kept telling myself not to text him because I thought if he liked me after the date he would text me. Him being the gentleman he is he texted me asking if I made it home. I responded and then he texted back asking if we could hang out again. OF COURSE!! And now here we are typing our story on our wedding website!
One of the things I love about Austin is when he is excited about something it is EXTREMELY hard for him to keep it in. But bless his heart, he tries! We had loosely penciled in bluebonnet pictures into our schedule a month ahead of time so when the weatherman is telling us the night before it is 100% chance of rain I kept asking him why we don't just reschedule it. Every time he would dramatically say WE CANT it HAS to be this day... so not obvious. Also, we had a group of people taking the pictures with us so again I am thinking if we CANT cancel why isn't everyone else canceling. Then we drive to the spot (in the rain) and my grandma is there, she wasn't one of the people who I knew would be there... suspicious. Everyone gets out and we take a few pictures and Amy, his mom, comes walking up...if I hadn't figured it out by now then something is wrong. Finally Austin and I are positioned in a waterfall with about 30 eyeballs and 10 phones on us. He finally and nervously got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. The rest is history! Seriously though, he is one of the most thoughtful people I have ever met and I thank God for him everyday!
