Every year around the Christmas holiday, Zack and I would visit the Christkindlmarket. We have made it a tradition to go to the market and pick out a handmade ornament each year. We didn't think that we were going to be able to visit the Christkindlmarket in 2016 due to Zack's hectic work schedule. Zack last minute got a few days off on a weekend and we were able to go. We arrived at the Christkindlmarket and this was the first year they did not have a Christmas tree set up in the market. Zack kept saying throughout the day that we needed to take a picture by a Christmas tree for his mom. We ate dinner and I was ready to go home when Zack kept insisting we go to Millennium park and take a picture by the Christmas tree and I am so glad he did. We got to the Christmas tree and we asked a younger couple to take our picture. The next thing I knew Zack got down on one knee and the tears began to flow! He asked me to marry him and it was one of the best days of my life! I asked Zack why he chose to propose to me on our annual trip to Chicago around Christmas. He said he wanted to continue the tradition of not only visiting the Christkindlmarket, but also be able to celebrate each year with our future kids and families as a place where he asked me to marry him. And the rest is history!
