It was a dark and stormy night… okay, just a rainy one — December 5th, 2022, to be exact. Kelsey and Virgil met for cocktails and snacks at The Girl and the Fig in Sonoma, where conversation flowed as smoothly as the drinks. Kelsey dazzled Virgil not just with her smile but with her brilliant wit. Between her sharp takes and his dad-joke energy, they hit it off immediately. Not ready to call it a night, they wandered over to Steiner’s for beers. Now, if you know Virgil, you know his love for taking complete creative control of a jukebox. And oh, did he deliver — from Backstreet Boys to *NSYNC, he curated a playlist so legendary that Kelsey couldn’t help but fall for him (or maybe it was the third round of beers). Either way, sparks flew, dance moves were threatened, and before the night was over, they’d already planned their second date… for the next morning.

Fast forward 2 years to a crisp, clear day — perfect for a romantic evening at The Inn at Little Washington, where Kelsey and Virgil both worked. But before love could take center stage, there was a little… turbulence. Frustrated that Virgil still didn’t have a ring, Kelsey called him out, sparking a pre-dinner squabble. (In her defense, she had a point.) Little did she know, Virgil already had the ring but was determined to keep her on her toes — even if that meant leaning into a perfectly timed argument. Later that evening, they were joined by Virgil’s uncle and aunt, Felix and Amaris, for what Kelsey assumed was a lovely but ordinary dinner. Meanwhile, Virgil was quietly plotting. He gave the team at the Inn a five-minute warning so they could join in the moment and then — because he’s nothing if not committed to the bit — started another argument just to really throw Kelsey off the scent. Right in the middle of the chaos, he dropped to one knee. Kelsey’s confusion melted into shock, then joy, and finally tears as she realized what was happening. With smiles, hugs, and light applause from their friends, the moment was perfect — even if it had started with a little creative misdirection.

We know it’s so far. Like very far… but it’s also Sicily! There is nothing more magical than making a new memory while discovering a new place… And to get to share that with all of you is our absolute dream! Virgil and Kelsey share a deep love of travel. So when the planning began, we immediately decided we wanted to tie the knot abroad. In January 2024, Virgil and Kelsey travelled together internationally for the first time, exploring Italy for 2 weeks. In October 2025, we’ll be returning with (you!) our loved ones to discover the gorgeous Mediterranean island of Sicily together. Good food, drink, views, weather, and friends. What could be better?!
