Trevor and I first met in the summer of 2018 while working at Camp CAMP, a summer camp in the Texas Hill Country for individuals with disabilities. Trevor was part of the maintenance team and it was my very first year on staff working with the campers. Right before our mid-summer break, I was on cabin duty when Trevor showed up with a strawberry slush from Sonic. With the sweet gesture, he asked if I wanted to hang out once we got back from break. Completely oblivious to the fact that he was actually asking me on a date, I responded, “Maybe, I’ll have to see if my parents are okay with me coming up to camp early.” Poor guy probably walked away thinking I wasn’t interested. I quickly realized my mistake, and we made plans soon after. He still won't let me live this down. Our first date was on the Fourth of July at a little Thai restaurant in Kerrville, Texas. We ended the night with our camp friends, setting off fireworks along the riverbank. From that moment on, we spent every free minute together for the rest of the summer. Now, seven years later, what started as a summer camp romance has turned into a lifelong commitment, and we couldn’t be more excited!
