Sebastien and Kelsey met the first day of college at University of Maine at Farmington. Through the very scientific process of UMF's roommate questionnaire, they were lucky enough to be next door neighbors at Scott North Hall. They spent that first weekend getting to know one another and quickly realized it felt pretty effortless to be around one another. Two pieces of a puzzle that found a seamless fit. There have been multiple apartments, trips, jobs, and thousands of miles back and forth across the country. And here they are more than a decade later- it feels just as effortless as that first weekend at UMF.
After a long summer Sebastien and I always make sure to check off some hikes during our favorite hiking season: Fall. On a chilly weekend in October- Sebastien, his sister Natalie, and I set off to the Bigelows to do a hike we hadn't done in years. Once we reached the summit of Little Bigelow we refueled with some ham italians. After lunch, I walked over to the eastern edge of the summit to grab some more photos. When I heard Sebastien's voice I turned around to find him down on one knee! I think I probably said yes before he even asked the question. Natalie kindly documented my many tears and the now hilarious coincidence of all three of us wearing the same color jacket (see above photo!). It was truly a perfect day and a perfect hike that I hope we can do for many Octobers to come.
