We are overwhelmed with love and gratitude from all of the support we’ve received during these uncertain times. Although we've been forced to change our plans many times (four to be exact), this experience has been the best reminder that love is resilient. We are excited about the lifetime ahead to celebrate with each and every one of you. Thank you for being by our side every step of the way. Love, K & P
It was January in Seattle. Kelsey and Pruitt were both invited to a ski trip in Crescent Bar by their mutual friends Blake and Alysha. Pruitt needed a ride, so Blake and Alysha suggested he carpool with Kelsey. After leaving him out in the cold for 45 minutes while she finished a work call, Kelsey rushed out of her house ski gear in hand and laid eyes on Pruitt for the first time. Of course, Pruitt was still happy as can be despite having to wait for this stranger in 30 degree weather. They shared stories, laughed, and jammed to their favorite music during a three hour drive out east. There was no doubt an immediate friendship formed that day, but little did they know that was the beginning of forever. Pruitt asked Kelsey to dinner the following Monday, where he helped her prepare for her upcoming interview at Amazon. Several months went by where they both went in their own directions; Pruitt gallivanting around the world with his Yacht Week crew and Kelsey heads down learning her new job. One fine April day in the office, Kelsey and Pruitt passed each other in the hallway. It just so happened that Pruitt was headed back out to Crescent Bar for the weekend and needed another ride (or so he said...). Kelsey agreed and another three hour car ride later, they became inseparable.
Pruitt and Kelsey planned a last minute trip to South Africa inspired by their friend Sarah and her connection to the Varty Family - the pioneers of safari and owners of the original Private Game Reserve, Londolozi. Because of Sarah's relationship with the Vartys, Pruitt knew he had the best team in the world to plan something unique and special. Kelsey and Pruitt woke up on the first morning of safari in their beautiful lodge overlooking Kruger National Park. They spent the hours before dawn tracking animals, sighting lions, elephants, rhinos, among many others in the wild. At one point, Kelsey turned to Pruitt exclaiming that it was the best day of her life. Little did she know, the best was yet to come. After morning safari, their ranger picked them up and drove them deep into the bush where they had been earlier for animal sightings. They were dropped off at a tree house in the middle of the jungle, surrounded by only nature and wildlife with a portable radio to communicate. The tree house was filled with an incredible spread of food and drinks, a table for two, and the perfect touch of African decor. There was a spotting scope set up in the corner pointing to a sign hundreds of meters away that read "Will You Marry Me?" The two of them spent several hours eating, drinking, celebrating, reminiscing, catching up on all of the details of how Pruitt planned the perfect moment. They cherished every second of their time together as just two beings in the middle of mother nature. The 4th continent they had visited that year. That evening, they ended up down by the river with a new found family who toasted with them to love and life. Celebrations continued into the evening and as if the day couldn't get any better, they saw the brightest shooting star soar across the night's sky. It was though the universe was celebrating too.
