It all started at a place called Dirty Birdies in Flagstaff, AZ—because nothing says "true love" like meeting at a job with that name. From the moment we saw each other, there was something there. We both felt it. The only problem? We were way too shy to do anything about it. At first, our conversations were just small talk—random topics, nervous laughter, and plenty of awkward moments. He made me laugh, but he also made me nervous, which only made things more awkward. Meanwhile, behind the scenes, I was confessing my crush to my coworkers, and he was doing the same with his. We had an entire audience rooting for us before we even exchanged numbers. One night, we were clocking out at the same time, and I swore he was finally going to make his move. Instead, he panicked, blurted out, "Okay, bye, have a good night, Kelsey!" and walked away at record speed. Smooooth. A couple of days later, our coworkers took matters into their own hands and started teasing us nonstop until we finally exchanged numbers. Our first real hangout was in Sedona, by the creek in the summer, and from that day forward, we were pretty much inseparable. He says he knew right then that I was the one. I felt the same way—though I was also just very impressed that he actually planned a good first date. We had dinner that night, and I was absolutely smitten. He treated me with so much kindness and respect, and I had never met someone like him before. Since then, we’ve met each other’s families, and we both consider them as our own. Our love has also taken us on countless adventures—Serbia, Italy, Spain, ski resorts, concerts, New York, and so many more. We have had the absolute best time together, and somehow, we still haven’t gotten tired of each other. Fast forward almost three years, and on New Year's Eve, in downtown Chicago, in front of the historic water tower that survived the Great Chicago Fire, he got down on one knee. We were both ridiculously nervous, but I said yes immediately. And now here we are—about to say "I do" in the fabulous Las Vegas, ready for the next big adventure.
