Rent bikes and ride along the canal path! This is our favorite thing to do. We do the New Hope to Washington Cross loop, it's a 12.5 mile loop. Yes this is where George Washington crossed on Christmas day in 1776! Great Bear Gear is a great place to rent bikes because you can pick up the canal path right across the street! https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/pennsylvania/delaware-canal-new-hope-to-washington-crossing
If you don't have time to rent bikes to ride the canal paths we highly recommend taking a stroll down the paths! The paths are on both sides of the rivers in New Hope and Lamberville and go in both directions.
A simple hike not far from the bed and breakfast where we stayed at during our engagement weekend. There are two trails to get to the Goat Hill Overlook. First one is a 1 mile out and back hike or there is a 2.5 mile loop. The out and back offers a gravel trail. https://njtrails.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Goat_Hill_Preserve.pdf
This bridge connects New Hope and Lambertville. Halfway across the bridge are the state lines, so take that cheesy photo standing in two different states at once. It's a must for us each time we visit.
Look, we would be lying if we didn't describe this place as kitschy. But kitschy doesn't mean a place can't be fun! Where else can you load up on candles, beef jerky, and Thomas Kinkade art? We're joking, mostly. It's a good spot for an early walk and to wonder through stores selling you things you never knew you needed.
The restaurant overlooks the Delaware River in the heart of historic New Hope. We ate here the weekend we got engaged.
We are always suckers for games! Triumph has two pool tables and darts. Great place to just hang out at the bar and relax
Low key place to get a drink. We prefer the back patio which over looks a creek and if you are lucky enough a musician would be playing on the near by street for you to listen while you sip on your drink
The downstair lodge is the place to be at the Lambertville Station. You feel like you are transported to a Colorado mountain lodge (just don't order the hot toddy). Lambertville Station is always on our list of places to stop at for a glass of wine. We've tried the cocktails and they were never any good so stick to the wine or beer here.
