Answer

Children of immediate family only, please.

Question

Question

How long does it generally take to get a passport if I don't have one?

Answer

It can take two months or longer for the government to process passport applications. So don't delay!

Question

How far away is Niagara-on-the-Lake?

Answer

Not as far as you think! Our venue is just 20 minutes from the Lewiston-Queeston Bridge. You can get there in less than an hour from Buffalo with average bridge traffic.

Question

What do I need to do when I get to the border?

Answer

Crossing the border doesn't need to be a stressful situation. Have your documents ready to present to the border agent when you pull up. Roll down the front and rear windows on the driver side. Be polite and confident. Let the driver do the talking unless they specifically ask a passenger a question. Common questions include where you live, what you're doing in Canada, how long you'll be staying, and if you have any goods to declare. Tell them you're going to a wedding at Queen's Landing in Niagara-on-the-Lake. View the list of prohibited items at the link below. Note that while cannabis products are legal in both NY and Ontario, you may NOT bring them across the border. https://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/travel-voyage/rpg-mrp-eng.html

Question

Will my credit card work in Canada? Do I need to get Canadian cash?

Answer

You should check the details of your specific credit card, but in general most major cards will work just fine in Canada without a fee. The exchange rate will be applied by your card. If you'd like to get Canadian cash, you can order it ahead of time from your bank, or stop at the currency exchange after going through customs at the bridge (they will charge a fee for the conversion). However, getting cash is certainly not necessary. Everywhere you want to go will accept card (or Apple Pay) unless you're way off the beaten path.
