Our friendship started in 2018 when Kelsey moved to Charlotte for grad school and started working at the YMCA. As coworkers, we began to get to know one another through personal training and the gym. Over the course of a year, the YMCA friend group grew strong, and became the ultimate family to both Kelsey and Nathan. Between game nights, dinners out, and celebrating life with each other, our bond became stronger. Before Nathan left for basic training, Kelsey realized that she had feelings for him. As any friend would do, she had to decide how to tell him and whether or not to wait for his return. Days before leaving the two discovered their feelings for one another, and agreed to explore what their relationship could be. While he was away, Kelsey and Nathan wrote each other letters, and that was where their relationship really began to evolve. Each letter and phone call was treasured and continued to grow their love for one another. Nathan arrived home from basic training on November 5, 2020 and from that day forward they committed to continue to grow and learn about love and life together. As we enter this new chapter together, we are excited to continue to challenge one another to be the best version of ourselves that we can be. We thank God daily for writing our love story, and for bringing us together on this special day. We thank you for being with us to celebrate the beginning of our marriage!
