It turns out the most important night of my life would be at a dance event called “Funk Night” in East Portland. Indeed the baselines were funky and you couldn’t help but tap your foot. There I was dancing near the stage when all of the sudden the most stunning woman caught my eye. I had to get her attention somehow. I stood up straight, took a deep breath and then did some sort of ridiculous spin/beckon gesture towards her. To my surprise she bounced right over with a bright smile and we started dancing the night away. This was the first night I connected with Kelsey. A few weeks later I invited her to our annual New Years Eve party. And boy did I have a New Years kiss in mind. Fortunately, everything went according to plan and I planted a big smooch on her as the clock struck midnight. After building this momentum I thought I was well on my way to becoming Kelsey’s boyfriend! It was New Years Day when I found out, she would in fact, not be my girlfriend. She told me that instead, she would be moving to Australia for a year and that she was leaving the following day. But all great things in life are worth waiting and fighting for. Kelsey and I kept in contact the entire time she was abroad. After months of texts and calls Kelsey invited me to visit her. With the encouragement and support from my Dad and my friend Mike Turnell, I was on a plane flying halfway around the world to see my future wife. Needless to say Australia worked out well since you are all coming to our wedding. We look forward to celebrating a wonderful day. Now go book a hotel or Airbnb! Lodging is filling up quickly. Love, Michael & Kelsey
