Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Kelsey Davidson and Kevin Conway
There are so many amazing things to do, places to eat, and adventure to be had in the Anchorage area, and in the areas near our wedding venue. If you're interested in fishing (either ocean, or river), there are many options available. We recommend you arrange a charter for ocean fishing in either Seward or Whittier, and try river fishing on the Kenai or the Russian. There are so many delicious restaurants in Anchorage, we know you'll find great meals and have fun exploring the culinary-side of the area! First on our list is a link to Visit Anchorage for a comprehensive list of activites. We've provided direct links to some of the stand-outs below.

Visit Anchorage Log Cabin Visitor Information Center

546 West 4th Avenue, Anchorage, AK 99501

This is our Visitor's Bureau, which is a great tool to help you look for different activities around the area.

Anchorage Museum

625 C Street, Anchorage, AK 99501

Incredible galleries and rotating exhibits.

Alaska SeaLife Center

301 Railway Avenue, Seward, AK 99664

Amazing, and interactive Sea Life Center - this stop is always a hit!

Glen Alps Trailhead Rest Area

Glen Alps Road, Anchorage, AK 99516

Flat Top is one of most popular hikes in the Anchorage area. It can be very busy during the summer which has it's pros (so many people, there's a low chance of bears) and cons (... so many people!), and is on the strenuous side toward the end. There are many other trail options from this same parking lot, however - it's a must for exploring! Bring $5 per car for parking!

Bird Ridge Trailhead

Bird to Gird Pathway, Anchorage, AK 99540

This trail head is accessed by driving along the Seward Highway, and is moderate/strenuous - it brings you up above the trees quickly with expansive views of Turnagain Arm. Bring $5 per car for parking.

Mt. Baldy Trailhead

12900 Golden Eagle Drive, Anchorage, AK 99577

This is an iconic hike in Eagle River, and the access for the trail head is at the top of a neighborhood near our home. Moderate level hike, with good views of Knik Arm.

Anchorage Coastal Trail Beach Access

2009 Foraker Drive, Anchorage, AK 99517

Anchorage has an incredible paved multi-use trail system throughout the city. These are biking, walking, running, dog, and children-friendly and eventually they pretty much all interconnect! The section downtown is heavily used during the Summer season by tourists and locals alike.

Kincaid Park

9401 Raspberry Road, Anchorage, AK 99502

A fabulous park, known for it's Cross Country Ski Races in the winter, this area connects with the same paved multi-use path system mentioned in the "Anchorage Coastal Trail Beach Access" item. There's also fun mountain-biking/single-track trails within the park if you rent bikes!

Beluga Point

Seward Highway, Anchorage, AK 99516

This is a scenic stop along the Seward Highway (would make for a great planned mini-excursion as you drive from Anchorage toward Moose Pass for the wedding!) Great views of Turnagain Arm.

Mount Marathon Trail

Mount Marathon Trail, Seward, AK 99664

This hiking trail is also used for an epic mountain race every 4th of July in Seward. We love this hike, and there are multiple ways up the mountain, depending on whether you want a moderate or strenuous hike. Once atop the mountain, there are amazing views of Seward and Resurrection Bay below.

Exit Glacier Trailhead

Seward, AK 99664

If seeing glaciers is on your Alaska "Bucket List", then this is a perfect outing. This area offers access to / views of a glacier near Seward Alaska. Be prepared to pay for parking here as well.
