Timpanogos Cave National Monument
The Timpanogos caves are something to behold. We recommend bringing a flashlight or headlamps in addition to water for this 3.5 hour experience. Make reservations in advance online. Prepare for a 1.5 mile paved hike to get to the caves. Well worth it! Click the link for more detailed steps on booking. Highly recommended experience.
Homestead Crater
The Homestead Caldera known locally as "The Crater" is a natural geothermal hot spring surrounded by a rock dome. Book in advance and enjoy a swim in the warm mineral waters.
Float the Provo River
This is one of our favorite summer activities with friends! A chill day floating the Provo. Contact High Country Adventures to rent tubes or a raft, they will provide a ride to the input point. We recommend bringing some rope to tie tubes together and DIY a party-barge. Don't forget your water shoes, cooler with drinks, snacks, and of course sunscreen.
Fly Fish the Provo River
July is peak summer fly fishing for Brown and Rainbow trout on the Provo River. Bring your rod and reel or reach out to the Sundance Resort fly shop for gear.
ZipTour at Sundance Resort
Experience the beauty of Utah from above with the Sundance ZipTour. This mountain adventure combines breathtaking views with an exhilarating descent. Click the link for details on age and weight requirements and book in advance if possible.
Hike Stewart Falls
A well marked and easy to follow trail from Sundance Resort to a photogenic waterfall. A great trail for beginners and young kids. 3.5 miles out and back.
SUP Tibble Fork or Deer Creek Reservoir
Cool off high in the Alpine at Tibble Fork Reservoir on a stand up paddle board. Be sure to arrive early to secure parking. Link provided is one of a few local shops to rent a board from. Another option is Deer Creek Reservoir, which is larger and allows motorized watercraft.
HIke Silver Lake
Hiking to Silver Lake in American Fork Canyon is a popular, scenic, and moderate to strenuous 4.5–4.7 mile roundtrip hike starting near Silver Lake Flat Reservoir. The trail offers a mix of shady aspen forests and steep, rocky terrain, making it a great day hike. Get to the top and enjoy a dip in the chilly snowmelt water.
Hike Mount Timpanogos
For those seeking a more advanced adventure, summit Mount Timponogos via The Timpooneke Trail (11,753 ft). A challenging 14–15 mile round-trip hike. Starting at Timpooneke Campground (7,300 ft) this hike features meadows, waterfalls, and wildflowers, especially in July. It is highly likely you will see mountain goats, which is the best part. Be sure to pack appropriately with water, food, sunscreen, and other essentials for a long big day. Early start highly recommended.
Mountain Bike
Fun fact: Jordan has been mountain biking for as long as Kelsey has been alive...so he's pretty good and Kelsey is slowly catching up. Utah offers a mecca of mountain biking trails for all levels. Let's shred.
Paragliding Flight Park
Winds permitting, catch the us at the flight park where we enjoy launching and soaring our paraglide wings. The Draper Flight park in the evenings is a great spot to catch a sunset and watch the gliders. Check in with the bride or groom to see if it will be a flyable evening.
Pioneer Day July 24th
Pioneer Day is an official Utah state holiday celebrated annually on July 24 to commemorate the arrival of the first Mormon pioneers, led by Brigham Young, into the Salt Lake Valley on July 24, 1847. It honors the 1847 settlement and Utah’s heritage with major parades, rodeos, fireworks, and historical reenactments. Be on the lookout for these local events and dive into Utah culture and history.
Days of 47 or Pioneer Days Rodeo
Days of 47 Rodeo - Salt Lake City is the biggest Pioneer Day rodeo in Utah with National-level competitors, a full stadium + big production including a drone/light show after. Runs July 21 – July 25, 2026. Ogden Pioneer Days Rodeo - Ogden, UT is Elite/nationally ranked and one of the top ranked rodeos in the U.S. Runs July 18 – July 24, 2026.
