We're so excited to celebrate with you. Find all the details you need to know about our big day here.
Kelsey and Joe met on a Thursday night through Marquette University's bowling league in January 2018. They were introduced by a mutual friend, and their first interaction was...brief. Kelsey complimented Joe's tattoos (an attempt to flirt), Joe didn't pick up on it, and both went back to bowling with their respective teams. A few weeks later, the two were reintroduced through another mutual friend, Liz Bobek (officiant). Kelsey, Joe, and Liz spent many hours in Engineering Hall studying together. As the two got to know each other, Joe eventually caught on to Kelsey's flirting. They shared their first kiss at the campus bowling alley where they first met. However, with graduation quickly approaching, the two were hesitant to start up a serious relationship and agreed to keep things casual. And that lasted about one whole week. Kelsey and Joe were quickly falling in love and decided to maintain their relationship while Joe went home to Minnesota for a summer internship, and Kelsey stayed in Milwaukee to finish her research. After the summer, the two switched places: Kelsey graduated with her Masters and moved to Minnesota for work, and Joe returned to Marquette for his senior year. The two maintained a long-distance relationship for the next year before Joe graduated and got a job back home in Minnesota. Their relationship continued to blossom as the two were reunited in the same city, and over the years they have checked off some major milestones: Living together in downtown Minneapolis (with The Best Roommate, Anna DeNeut), ALMOST moving to Germany together (thanks, COVID), moving into their own place in NE Minneapolis, getting their dream dog (The Best Boy, Reggie), buying a home together in Fridley, and finally...getting engaged. In September 2022, Kelsey had planned a surprise trip to Duluth for Joe's birthday. However, Joe had an even bigger surprise planned: After working with Kelsey's sister (Lauren Randleman, MOH) to get the details of his own "surprise" birthday trip, Joe planned to pop the question at an outlook in Jay Cooke State Park while long-term BFF Sam Runyon photographed the scene and called the family. However, Kelsey and Joe spent their first morning in the cabin playing cribbage on account of the rain, and Joe had to alter his plan. While Kelsey took Reggie outside, Joe stealthily got both families and Sam on Zoom. Kelsey came back inside and Joe thrust the phone in her hand. Confused to be greeted by her entire family, Kelsey turned to Joe and asked, "What's going on?" In response, Joe got down on one knee and choked out a squeaky "Will you marry me?" The rest is history. And now you're caught up. We cannot wait add you to our story as we celebrate our wedding! Love, Kelsey & Joe
