Our story begins with the most important part of our lives: our family. Before we were born, our families were connected through Jensen’s grandfather Cary’s dental practice. My mom and grandparents were longtime patients at the practice, where Jensen’s mom, Charie, also worked. When I became old enough, I followed suit going to Dr. Halpin and Charie for excellent dental care. Years later in college, and recently out of a breakup, Charie encouraged me to reach out to Jensen. It was almost love at first message... except he didn’t respond. So I chose kindness over judgment (for the most part) and went on with my life. About nine months later, I saw Jensen’s beach photo and sent him another message with little expectation of a response. This time he replied! We started talking, he asked for my number—and the rest is history. Through long-distance calls and much patience (I worked night shift at the hospital and Jensen was finishing college in Portland) we built a strong foundation of friendship. Since then our love has grown through life’s ups and downs and we’ve created a little family of our own with our German Shepherd, Ruby Roo. In February 2025, Jensen popped the question on Whidbey Island, proving good things really do come to those who wait. Naturally, I didn’t leave him hanging- one of us had already done plenty of that😉 It was an easy yes!
