Meet our people!

Leah Bergsten

Bridesmaid

Leah is my big sister and one of my favorite people in the world. Without her, life would look a lot different. She is endlessly loving, forgiving, and supportive. Everything she does is with grace and kindness, and on top of that she is fun and silly and a hella good dancer. Leah lives with her family in Liberty, MO - we love them so much we bought a house a mile away- she is married to Dillon, who will be standing with Jake, and their boys, Max and Reese, will also be an important part of our day. We can't wait to have Leah by our side on May 13 and in our corner forever! (& on the dance floor at the reception)

Deisy Moreno

Bridesmaid

I met Deisy in 5th grade, growing up in Rockford, IL. She was the new girl in school, I walked up to her and said, "I like your hair.". The rest is history. That was the first and only year we attended the same school, and at age 21, Deisy moved to LA, and I stayed in the Midwest. Despite that, here we are over 20 years later, still best friends. Deisy brightens every room, she is brilliant, creative, goofy, and she still has really good hair. She will be travelling from the west coast to share the day with me, and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Dillon Bergsten

Groomsman

Dillon moved into my neighborhood in middle school, and I got a friend for life. Despite us having completely different friend groups and class schedules; he was taking AP classes while I was taking the easiest electives available, we were inseparable once the final bell rang. Fast forward to his college years, when like some crazy kid he decided to get married. I showed up to Rockford, Illinois and fell in love at first sight with his future sister in law the moment I saw her at the rehearsal. I couldn't be happier that I get to have him in my wedding 12 years later and we finally get to be brothers.

Mitch Larsen

Groomsman

Mitch and I have known each other for 34 years now; cousin, friend, coworker, confidant, fellow adventurer, hunting buddy, boss and the closest thing I have to a big brother. He has worn a lot of hats but has been through all of the ups and downs with me, and always there with a helping hand or a stern word when I needed it. The example he has set in both his personal and professional lives is just one of the many reasons I can't imagine my wedding without him standing by my side.

Robert Warren

Groomsman

Back in 2013, Robert and his now wife were looking for a roommate, and I was looking for a place to stay. Prior to that, I had spent time with them at bars, played on a trivia team with them, and attended their Halloween parties and other assorted soirees. We were more than acquaintances, but hardly close friends. But after I moved in and ended up living with them for over 5 years, we became family. Robert, Laura and Hob are indispensable members of "my people". I was given the pleasure of being the officiant at their wedding and now Robert gets to watch me start this journey with the loves of my life.

Justin Snellen

Officiant

I was told for months that I had to meet this Justin guy because we were both a couple of good ole' Missouri boys that were stuck in the middle of the city. This long awaited meet up happened on the night of Thanksgiving in 2011. Miller High Life, Canadian Mist, and a roasted deer loin were involved. If there is such a thing as best friend at first sight, this is an occasion where it happened. Justin will be presiding over the ceremony not only because he is blessed with the gift of gab, but because he also happens to be one of the most thoughtful, caring and sincere people I know, when the moment calls for it. I can't wait for him to be the guy to sign the marriage certificate and make it official.

Luella Argall

Flower Girl

Luella will undoubtedly be the star of the show on our wedding day. We know this because she is the star of our everyday lives. Luella was just over 1 year old when Jake and I reconnected and started dating. Their love for each other grew as quickly as ours did and it was and is the most wonderful thing I’ve ever seen. Luella is 2 1/2 now, full of attitude and imagination. We can’t promise that the aisle will be walked or flowers will be thrown, but we can’t wait to share our wedding day with our girl.

Reese Bergsten

Ring Bearer

Reese will be turning 6 just a couple of weeks before the wedding and he has agreed to be our Ring Bearer/Dance Floor Master. He will be bringing the rings down the aisle and bringing his KILLER dance moves to the reception. He has also agreed to "help" Luella down the aisle. I know he will go above and beyond in each of his assignments ;). Life would have far less belly laughs without this kid and I'm sure our wedding day will be no different.

Max Bergsten

Usher

Max has given us the honor of agreeing to lend his services as an Usher, of sorts, for the ceremony. Max is Leah and Dillon's oldest (somehow he is almost 8) and is such a cool kid. He is wildly inventive and smart, kind, and GOOFY (refer to photo). We adore him and our wedding day is going to be that much more fun with him involved.
