How we met!

Grant and Kelsey met through mutual friends at brunch in Dallas in December 2018. Grant had just returned from a deployment to Kuwait and was visiting his college friends who happen to live in Dallas. At the same time, Kelsey was in graduate school in Dallas to become a Physician Assistant. The two sat on opposite ends of the table, but when Kelsey needed a refill of her coffee, Grant was quick to get the waiter’s attention. This was their first interaction that quickly led to the two hitting it off and getting to know each other for the remainder of the afternoon. Eventually, Grant got the courage to ask Kelsey for her number at the end of the day and the rest is history! The couple spent the next few years doing long distance in between Kelsey’s clinical rotations and Grant’s military duties. Finally in October 2020, Grant officially moved to Dallas and he popped the question!

Proposal!

Grant and Kelsey love the outdoors and are always planning their next getaway to go hike. Traveling to Maine had been on both of their “lists” so the couple decided they would go during peak fall foliage time in October. They traveled to Acadia National Park and hiked all of the favorite trails each day. The leaves were so vibrant and the blueberry ales were delicious. On the last day at Acadia, Grant requested to get one last hike in before traveling to a small coastal city closer to the airport for their last night. That morning the couple hiked to the peak of Connor’s Nubble, a less crowded trail in Acadia. Once the couple reached the top after a few hours of climbing, Grant got down on one knee and asked Kelsey to be his wife. Kelsey of course said yes, and then quickly noticed a stranger taking photos of the proposal! Little did she know Grant’s friend from college (who Kelsey had never met) stealthily hiked behind them the entire morning to capture it all! The three ate fresh Maine blueberries on the mountainside and then made their hike back down together. It was easily the best day of their lives.
