Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Kelsey Turner and George Lisi
We love Newport and are happy to provide other recommendations if you want ideas! This is definitely a town where you won't run out of things to do.

The Breakers

44 Ochre Point Avenue, Newport, RI 02840
, (401) 847-6544

Any of the Newport Mansions are fun to visit if you like history, The Gilded Age, or just fancy houses. The Breakers and Marble House are our favorites, but they're all in the same area and all awesome!

Cliff Walk

Cliff Walk, Newport, RI 02840

This is a fun walking trail that has multiple starting points. There are great views of the ocean and beautiful houses. This is near the mansions and is a Newport tourism staple.

Thames Street

Thames Street, Newport, RI 02840

We love going here. There are wonderful restaurants, awesome shopping, and great water views. Some dinner recommendations are Benjamin's, Bar and Board, The Red Parrot, Midtown Oyster Bar, and Brick Alley (this is always pretty crowded though) on Thames. We love Surf Club on Thames for food and especially for drinks (they have the BEST Mudslides!) and it's a great place to sit outside. Kilwin's is a must for ice cream. Near Thames but getting closer to Broadway there is also Fastnet for a fun dive bar, Stoneacre and Malt are great restaurants, and Charter Books is an awesome little independent book store.

Fort Adams State Park

80 Fort Adams Drive, Newport, RI 02840
, (401) 847-2400

Always fun for a bit of history! Also has excellent views.

Castle Hill Inn

590 Ocean Avenue, Newport, RI 02840
, (888) 466-1355

This is a beautiful resort in Newport, but you can also get a drink here and sit outside on the Adirondack chairs and watch boats sail by!

For all the days along the way
