The First Date

It was a Tinder thing

Kelsey and Emily spontaneously matched on Tinder on October 26th, 2014 (Kelsey had not, in fact, downloaded it for its intended purpose, but rather as an instructional tool for a coworker). We then met up at Neshaminy Mall for dinner and a movie and stayed out until 1 o'clock in the morning. Afterwards, we went back to Kelsey's apartment in Philly (having never driven on the boulevard before... Emily decided her first trek would be following a stranger at 1AM down into Philly in the pouring rain without a GPS). Kelsey took Emily to the top of the apartment building where we sat and talked until the sun came up.

The Proposal

How dare you lie to me!

Kelsey, Emily, and Maggie Moo were camping in Bradford, PA in late September of 2018. We were in the middle of the woods without cell service and proceeded to go hiking with Moo in tow. The entire time, Emily thought that Kelsey was going to propose but Kelsey kept lying claiming that wasn't the plan. On a hike in Rimrock, Kelsey decided to pop the question as was always the plan. Emily decided to enjoy a little greenery (as per usual) and turned around to find Kelsey (and Moo) on one knee. Emily proceeded to scream, "How dare you lie to me" and proceeded to punch Kelsey in the arm.

The Marriage

...So we got married...

SURPRISE!? On September 18th, 2019, we decided to get married...because that makes buying a house easier, doesn't it? Kelsey and Emily and a small group of friends held a small picnic where Kelsey and Emily had two of their friends sign their marriage certificate as witnesses. We tried to keep up tradition of not seeing one another before the ceremony and then we accidentally matched outfits. Afterwards, we planned on barhopping through Narberth, but after getting to McShea's we didn't leave to go to another bar and still haven't left.

The First Year of Marriage

The New House, New Dog, and New Challenges

It was January 2020, we were finally moving into our first house, after patiently waiting three months since we put the initial offer on our first house. A month after moving in, we decided to add a new fur baby into our family, Cowboy Jack. Things were looking great and it was the perfect start to our marriage.........then COVID happened and it created new challenges into our lives. Kelsey lost a graphic design job, gained a restaurant job, and quit the restaurant job to make room for the newest adventure of Kelsey's career, being a tradesman. Emily worked in the COVID chaos and was quarantined in the guest room for a few months so that everybody could stay safe and fed. It's been a long challenging year dealing with COVID and it's now time to celebrate and be together at long last.
