Aloha formal attire, which includes sports coats or spring/summer suits for kāne (men) and colorful cocktail dresses for wahine (women). Mo' color, mo' bettah! (The more color, the better!) The reception will be outside on the lawn, so block heels and hemmed dresses are best for a lawn party.
We will share our confirmed schedule of events 3-6 months prior to the wedding. At this time, we are planning for a Thursday, 4/22, welcome party at sunset. We will receive confirmation of booking from the welcome party venue this fall. However, we are already confirmed on Saturday, 4/24, for our wedding at the Moana Surfrider hotel from 5:00-9:30pm.
The local airport is Honolulu International Airport (also known as Daniel K. Inouye International Airport), airport code HNL.
If you have time, absolutely! Our wedding weekend in Waikiki will be your classic tourist hub experience, with historic hotels and beach bars. If you fancy a more relaxing island experience before or after the wedding, we recommend visiting Big Island or Kauai. Alternatively, you can rent a car and drive to the North Shore of Oahu and stay at the Ritz or an Airbnb in the Turtle Bay Resort area.
We plan to post our family's recommendations by island to this wedding website. Please check back soon for links to our recommended activities and places to stay.
We chose Waikiki for our wedding location for the convenience and its sun. If it happens to be a rare rainy day in Waikiki, we will move the entire wedding inside the Moana Surfrider hotel.
Waikiki is a bustling tourism destination with historic hotels and beach bars. You will meet tourists from all over the world. The shopping is luxurious, but the restaurants and bars are more casual. The hotels, streets, and beaches are crowded. The water is a beautiful color and great for beginner surfing lessons. It's very sunny and warm most days. We chose this location for our wedding for the convenience and weather. If crowded tourist destinations are not your vibe, please check back soon for our complete list of recommendations for beaches and towns to visit on Oahu.
Yes, keiki are invited!
