Jackson Hole Airport is the simplest, most direct route to the town of Jackson. United, Delta, and American all fly into this airport; some have direct options, most others will require a connection. Transit from airport to town/lodging: The town of Jackson does not have a dedicated public transit route between JAC and downtown. Your best options are private transportation, via uber or taxi. Some hotels offer an airport tranfer, so check with your lodging before booking a taxi service. Visit https://www.jacksonholeairport.com/travelers/transportation/ for taxi options. Alternatively, if you plan to rent a car, you will pick up your rental car at the airport. Please consider carpooling, especially if you're staying with a group -- parking in town is limited and often carries a fee.

Camping in Teton County during the fall can be challenging, not least due to the potential for snowfall. Be sure to secure your food properly according to bear safety best practices, clean up after yourself, and respect the wildlife and the landscape. Some campgrounds close by the time October comes around, and others may not be accessible, depending on the type of vehicle you drive. Check out the following campgrounds: Curtis Canyon, Bridger-Teton National Forest: 30ish minute drive from town. Free dispersed camping beyond the reservable sites. NOTE: this road can get ROUGH, especially after a full summer of use. Gros Ventre Campground, Grand Teton National Park: approx 35 minutes from town — many sites available for campers, vans or tents. Reservations required. Colter Bay Campground, Grand Teton National Park: this is the furthest campground option from town, approx 1 hour depending on traffic. Reservations required. Spread Creek: dispersed, free. Approx 50 minutes north of town. If you want to camp at spread creek, be sure to watch signage or use an app like OnX to confirm you’re camping in the national forest and not in the park. No dispersed camping allowed within GTNP, and that includes pullouts!!
