Poogan's Porch - Southern food right in the heart of historic downtown! Mac and Cheese is HIGHLY recommended by Clay. Leon's Oyster Shop - About a ten minute walk up King Street from the Hyatt, specializing in fried chicken and oysters. If you need to beat the heat, the frozen gin and tonics alone are worth the stop. Fleet Landing - A great place to stop for lunch after you walk through the Historic City Market. Sit on the deck overlooking the water if the weather is nice! Slightly North of Broad - A Charleston staple and great place to make a date night reservation! Darling Oyster Bar - A five minute walk down King Street from the Hyatt. Oyster Happy Hour from 4-7pm on weekdays. Callie's Hot Little Biscuit - No trip to Charleston is complete without a fluffy biscuit breakfast! ... And of course, don't leave town without getting a big box of pralines!
Find a Rooftop Relax with a drink and a great view of the city! We recommend The Rooftop at the Vendue or The Citrus Club. Stop by a Local Brewery No shortage to choose from here. Revelry and Palmetto Brewing Companies are both downtown. Go to North Charleston to check out Holy City Brewing Company. Frothy Beard is a fun brewery that serves pizza in West Ashley, and Westbrook Brewing is a great stop in Mount Pleasant. Get a Nightcap at a Cocktail Bar The Cocktail Club is close by the Hyatt. Grab a drink with a fun name like Feed the Birds or Certified Lover Boy. You can also get Punch Bowls to share. If you're further downtown, check out The Gin Joint where you can get food and drinks.
Go to the beach! Our favorites are Folly Beach and Sullivan's Island. Both are within a 25 minute drive of downtown. Explore the Marsh Rent a kayak or paddle board and get out on the water. We recommend Charleston Outdoor Adventures in Folly Beach, where you can get a seafood meal at Bowen's Island Restaurant afterward. Shem Creek Boardwalk Walk the boardwalk along the marsh and watch for the shrimp boats coming in. Check out one of the Creek-front restaurants to have drinks and a bite to eat. Saltwater Cowboy is always humming.
