It was a crisp autumn day in October, and New York City had rediscovered its magic after the long, sweltering summer months. The streets buzzed with life and energy once more. Unbeknownst to Kelsey and Casper, their paths were destined to serendipitously cross at a rooftop party on the Lower East Side—echoing a run-in years prior at the infamous Southside (just ask Kelsey for the details). As one of Donny Cafero’s famed rooftop parties drew to a close and the sun began to set, Kelsey arrived wearing her knee-high boots, accompanied by her best friend, Libby Thomas, and a parade of her Fairfield friends. When Kelsey and Casper locked eyes, she swiftly bypassed a warm greeting and headed straight to the dance floor, eager to catch the last few songs before the lights came on. Casper, not one to be overlooked, gently tapped her on the shoulder... What followed was a light and flirty conversation, culminating in the exchange of phone numbers and the planting of a seed for a first date. However, juggling busy schedules and frequent work travel meant that it took weeks to formalize plans. Finally, in early November, Casper and Kelsey met at a quaint café near her apartment in the East Village. They quickly discovered that they would both be in London on the same dates in mid-November and eagerly agreed to make a conscious effort to reconnect in the UK. What followed was a week-long escapade filled with laughter, dancing, and drinks at Archer Street, along with delightful breakfasts at the Rosewood. Then, just a few months later, the world came to a grinding halt in March 2020. One of the few silver linings of the pandemic was the opportunity to spend every waking moment together. Our love grew strong, and despite our best efforts to "play it cool", we found ourselves head over heels for each other.
