Calvin asked me to help him work some of his heifers Sunday evening before I had to head back to Mitchell for work. This was a normal thing for us. Not to mention it was the only time he knew he could maybe get by without me knowing what he was doing. Also, he was being awfully nice and calm for working cattle. (Which was a bit suspicious). When we finished, the sun was setting and as I went to close the last gate of the night. I turned around and there he was, down on one knee. 🥰 After his speech, we held each other and cried happy tears. After this, I did have to scold him for having the ring in his pocket while working cattle! Of course, he said “It was safe, it was in my coin pocket”.
